Custom Specifications for Structural Forming

We engineer composite presses around your specific part geometry, resin system, and production goals, moving beyond the limitations of standard general-purpose machinery.

  • Tonnage Range: Custom force configurations from 15 tons to 2500 + tons.
  • Platen Dimensions: Bed sizes ranging from self-contained compact lab units to large-scale 98 in. x 60 in. working areas (and larger).
  • Heating Methods: Electric, thermal fluid (hot oil), or infra-red heating options for platens up to 800°F and above.
  • Press Architectures: Choice of 4-post, slab-side, or fabricated frame-type designs to optimize rigidity, parallelism and deflection control.
  • Process Controls: Advanced data acquisition and PLC systems, including platforms such as Allen-Bradley, for real-time monitoring and cycle repeatability.

Manufacturing primary and secondary structures for aerospace, defense, and other advanced industries requires equipment that can handle the unique demands of composite formed components, preforms, and curing cycles. Accudyne systems are engineered to support quality and consistency through every stage of production.

Flatness and Parallelism

Platens and bolster working surfaces are ground flat and parallel and precise guidance of the moving bolster ensures parallelism throughout the stroke.

Thermal Management

Integrated heating and cooling systems are designed to provide consistent resin curing cycles.

Automated Handling

Integration with material loaders, shuttle systems, and related automation to improve throughput and production efficiency.

Does Accudyne support both thermoset and thermoplastic forming?

Yes. Our systems are engineered to handle the different heating and cooling profiles required for both thermoset resins and high-temperature thermoplastics as well as RTM, BMC, SMC, vacuum assisted and bladder molding applications.

Can automated part-handling systems be integrated?

Yes. We offer custom automation solutions, including shuttle tables, material handling and robotic interfaces, to improve return on investment and reduce unit costs.

What level of thermal uniformity can be achieved?

Through multi-zone heating and precision-drilled platens, we engineer thermal performance around your curing and processing requirements to support tight, repeatable results.
